Nice little game, do you plan an update here? I gave it some attention at pdroms.de/gameboy/i-shall-be-queen-gbc-game. Hope it helps!
I liked the sprite work, both in terms of the actual graphics as in its management (because iirc in GB you need to move several 8x8 and 8x16 parts to move the player graphic for example).
Now, the hit detection is pretty clunky and unfair. My character covers so much of the screen some things are just unavoidable. My attacks on the other hand are pretty useless (I had to jump and kick in order to defeat all enemies, because aligning them to the height of the punch was not good, and if I did I better threw a fireball and see if I could catch anything else in a straight line).
But overall pretty fun, and nicely done.
pretty fun, definitely difficult, maybe mostly because of the enemies being shorter than you, and aiming for your feet.
Good game, it even has an intro and some sounds
The gameplay is complicated though
The problem is that the princes hits on the air but the enemis are on the floor, I think it will be better hitting aiming to the floor
Very cool! The game definitely gets hard at times.
Looking at your code gives me some ideas about things I could have used, too. My next Game Boy game needs to do use more ROM bank loading and handle memory much better.
A double dragon-style beat-em-up for #bitbitjam3 For the gameboy and gameboy colour!
Not sure if the source code went on there so I've uploaded it to:

For your perusal.
Err, controls... yeah, A to Jump, B to attack, SELECT to use mana, Good luck!
There are a couple of bugs with the game and it gets bloody tough to beat.
Also I had to cut out the boss fight due to ROM and time limitations.
There's a few easter eggs dotted around, have fun!
