Also, here's the story of the game:
After the events of Sonic Mania Plus, Eggman was pushed into the Phantom Ruby portal, leaving him into the unknown, while other four versions of Eggman were having the same faith, they all ended up on a strange place in which they called the Glitch Realm. A place where the five realities were colliding, a place where nothing made sense. The five of them saw their planet from up somewhere but it was strange, with five variations of it, and then they realized, that the world and everything around it was unstable. They began to create a tower to reach the planet, and began to populate the world with badniks to find the five version of Sonic.
Meanwhile, Toei Sonic was watching the Little Planet from afar when suddenlly a weird portal pushed him into it, he didn't know what was happening but he got a glance of a weird reflection of him.
The same happened to a "cartonny" Sonic, while he was having a jog through a bad drawned hills.
And also happened to a extremely cute Sonic, to a "female" Sonic and to a Sonic who rides a hoverboard and race but not any race, a special race to see who's the fastest.
They all got to the same place, a world with five variations of their normal world full of badniks, and then they got to work to stop the plans of the Eggman's.
