What do you think?

very cool game

I Hate Everything is a fangame of Clicker Game Curse Video (クリッカーゲーム 呪いのビデオ - 人類滅亡計画!). I admire the premise, characters and humour of original game, but unfortunately they are wasted on a clicker game. I intend to make this game to essentially make its legacy live on (for me) before I probably uninstall the game some time in the future.

I don’t want to give away too much of the game, but basically Urara is a girl who hates everyone and wants to annihilate mankind, and you are a neighbouring shrine maiden (miko) who is trying to stop her.

I originally had a spooky ending but later decided it didn’t make a lot of sense in the context and switched it for an admittedly cliché ending which I still prefer the original ending I had in mind.

This game features a number of features not seen in any of my previous (around 275, I assume) games, and some programming experiments being carried out. These include:

  • a continue option (allowing you to come back to the game at any time and pick back up on where you left off last time)

  • an ‘escape’ quit prevention/confirmation (as a friend kept saying how he always accidentally quitted Game Maker games by pressing ‘Esc’, but removing this feature prevents the game from being exited at all, and here I have new ways of dealing with it)

  • some aesthetics (e.g. for the power-up)

I’ll be waiting to hear if these new features are liked or not, so that I may or may not incorporate them into future games.

I’ve also been planning to make some games of these genres, but never got around to making them before (one was going to be a Kin-iro Mosaic fangame). And so I’ve done that here. It is also a decent break from all those really hard pseudo-danmaku Touhou and Len’en fangames I’ve been making as of late.

Based on games released/published by Bally Midway, Atari and Activision, as well as the original Curse Video game.
