Inner Demons is a neat little pixel art game I'm working on.


Characters

Benevolent

Benevolent is a demon with non-elemental magic. Isn't that just plain? Born years after the War, she lives hapilly in the Bellwood forest, located south of the Kingdom of Regret. She prefers living alone and secluded, to simply enjoy nature. Willing to help anyone in need, she convinces Guilt to let her come with him across the Circles.

Guilt

Guilt is a winged demon, an oditty in every Circle. He seems to posess magic stronger the most demons, with no identifiable element. Afraid to repeat the events of the past, he tries to keep to himself. Trying to right his wrongs, intentional or not, he agrees to set out across the Circles with Benevolent.


What's the game like?

Inner Demons is a 2d platformer! I love those.

Fight using Benevolent's sword or Guilt's fists. Benevolent's magic can be augmented with elemental orbs, though choose wisely! Once you embed an orb into her sword it is near impossible to remove. Fight monsters, other demons, and even the reality-altering angels.

Explore 6(?) Circles, each with their own enemies and locations to discover! I might do level-based, or it might be more free and rpg-like. Idk, it's still just a test demo.

woah i made a cool customization system you can see a screenshot of in the screenshots of the game that i updated also

the thumbnail and banner look silly though since my artstyle is different now, notably the loss of arms

gotta upload some new n better screenshots, and probably redo the banner and thumbnail art.. new art style and new game, basically!! I'll get it done soon enough though

switching game engines...

i did that thing where i start something that needs like 6 other things to be made and now i'm working on a combat system. i also redesign the game's artstyle so thats cool

game deving is hard man

redid the animation system to be the old one and found a much better workaround, now i'm hot on the trail of making a test demo

nevermind i'm workin really fast :))

Oopsie boopsie i have to rewrite the animation system to be a custom one since i need the legs to move independantly from the arms.

maybe a bit longer for that demo :(

prolly gonna release a test demo soon - just needs a little polishing up :)))
