I gotta say...very neat little game.
the controls are solid, Isaac moves around very swiftly and controllably, which I like. The scenery is very nicely designed and it felt like I was actually on a journey to destroy the evil count Dracula once more, just like old days.
I did have some problems when turning around, sometimes Isaac wasn't in the correct direction and I ended up whipping to my left instead of my right, which really messed me up multiple times in the mummy fight. And if I would want to suggest something, I would say add a keybinding feature. Make it so we can change the controls to better fit our style, I found it jarring sometimes having to press space to use the sub-weapon, you know. :P
The game is a challenge level 3 onwards, just like the original Castlevania and I really like that. The fact that you start over when you die gives off a vibe I really like with me always getting better and better and faster and faster traversing the brilliant levels!
Great job mate, loved it! :)
EDIT: After playing it some more I found a big exploit. If your press R to restart the candles will all respawn, so I could just keep restarting the level and then whipping the candles over and over again to get essentially infinite hearts. Just so you know. :P
