I see nothing wrong with the graphics: they're cute as hell! Decent platform game, but I keep falling through the stairs.
This game is great!
the above is false
If you add better graphics, Added easier gameplay (Those so call 'pit falls' are annoying as hell. Remove them) if not, Make it so you can TELL there is a gap. The player moves to fast. The stroy box could be ALOT better, Not to big, Better font. And a better story itself.
Default logo and loading bar, I can tell you don't care about putting effort into your game as soon as it starts. "One day jack was scrolling along Stroll Stroll Stroll" How do I continue? I pressed space, seems to skip the cutscene. Lucky me. Collisions are terrible, I stop against a block about 3 times the character's width before I'd touch it. Instead of slopes, you placed about 50 small blocks which took forever to jump up. As I type this, the music is annoying me... Going up more "Slopes"... And I fell through the damn ground. Got back to same place, and fell through it AGAIN. "WARNING: This is a punishing platformer. There are many traps, though there is always a visual cue that something is wrong, and it's not all that bad in this demo, seeing as it's just the first world, but to the faint of heart, turn back now!" It's not punishing, it's just a bad game.
The graphics can use alot of work, the game story really doesn't make any sense at all. I don't know if it's supposed to be funny, or what, but It wasn't. The players speed is way to fast, and I had no idea what was going on. There was nothing to explain the controls of the game to you.
Great game, just like the old times.
My only problem was that I fell through the floor later in the level, was that where the demo ended?
WARNING: A PUNISHING PLATFORMER APPROACHES!
Now that that's out of the way, this is Jak's Story, a platformer I've been working on featuring a character from a comic I sometimes doodle in my spare time. Anyway, it is indeed a very hard, mean platformer, but there's always some sort of visual cue that something's not right. If something really messed up happens, when you come back, look for a hint at what the problem might be.
CONTROLS:
Move/jump => Arrow keys
Attack => Z
Special Attack (NOT IN DEMO) => X
There are 2 other characters in the comic, and I plan to make one game for each of them.
