was left genuinely speechless by the ending of this thing. you've created art, my friends
By the way, can you upload the OST to YouTube? I loved it
I played the original doleful and considered it hilarious and genuinely entertaining. It was a lot of effort put in for something that tried to feel like it had none put in, but unlike other contemporaries in that regard it felt like it was actually accomplishing more than just being "okay" underneath the surface, it was great, not just good.
I had been wondering if a sequel to doleful could be done, obviously I had wanted it but understood you can't really do the joke doleful did twice, it wouldn't resonate as well, wouldn't "click". I clearly was underestimating the team behind this. without spoilers, I genuinely cannot fathom how you could pull off being "the sequel to doleful" better than how it was done here, the team succeeded in *building* on the idea of tricking the player, and it came out as true art.
The original doleful is something I recommended to people into Lisa fan games semi-ironically, it was a funny experience but you didn't gain anything playing it, watching a you tube video practically gave you the same experience. This game deserves to be remembered with the Lisa greats like hopeful and pointless, this game is not only *finished* but represents near the pinnacle of what I think a "Lisa fangame" can accomplish. Obviously it's not as direct of an example the "genre" as those games are, but in terms of Lisa being an example of a "unique" RPG experience, I think this is near perfect.
Don't take it too seriously
Unless you're the devs, in which case take the following seriously
You made a genuine masterpiece, be proud of yourselves
Can we have a tutorial on how like, everything worked functionality/mechanically? Like the fighting system and how when your done its like rpgmaker and also the enimeis and bosses (please respond if you can/want)
what a horrible nightmare
