Gamejam Themes and how they are applied to this game:

  • Breeder ("Familiarity Breeds Contempt" mechanic)

  • Neutralization (Hatred hearts from 2 different sources neutralize each other)

  • Criminal (Bandit, stealing love)

  • Surprise (You'll see)

  • Bonus Rule: Add a "Did you know..." element to the game.

Instructions:

  1. Movement: Use the arrow keys or WASD keys to move. Or hold down mouse button to walk towards the mouse cursor.

  2. Stealing: Push colorful hearts onto your face to make it smile.

  3. Love Meter: Smiling increases the Love Meter. Frowning decreases it. Fill the Love Meter all the way to win!

  4. Other faces will generate hearts faster if they are smiling. They will create hatred hearts (blackened hearts) if they are too sad.

  5. Keep hatred hearts away from your face. Hatred hearts from one source will neutralize hatred hearts from another source. (Look at the eye color to determine the source.)

  6. Familiarity Breeds Contempt: Stealing too many hearts from one color will turn them into hatred hearts when they touch your face. There will be a sign above your face indicating which color you have contempt for.

  7. SPACEBAR to pause, R to return to title screen, and ESC to skip cutscene or restart current level.

Secret cheat codes:

  • u:jump to next level (during a level's gameplay)

  • i: fill up Love Meter (auto-win)

  • o: empty the Love Meter (auto-lose)
