What do you think?

Bravo. To everyone who visits this page, take an hour of your life to download and start Loving Life. That's a beautiful story...

I knew the game Once Upon a Coma while wandering on kickstarter. It seems it will be an unbelievable game and I do not want to play the demo I want to play it in full right out of the box. Today, you asked to choose on which platform the kickstarter contributors wish to receive Once Upon.... I have Steam but I don't like the fact that we can't "own" the file as if we had a CD (like the games of a few years ago -before everything was dematerialized). So thanks to you I looked at what was the website Gamejolt and it's an incredible site with a lot of creative people.

In short, thanks to the game that you are developing with Atmos that I knew Gamejolt, and finally that I come across Loving Life. Unbelievable. You tell us your story, and if this is the first game you had programmed it puts us directly in the mood of what will be all you want to create ...
"Z", it's great that you're better, I hope your health will stay good

Ive played Mega Man. Ive played Castlevania. Ive played Contra. But of all the games Ive played, this one was the hardest.

I'm Jacob Snyder, a 17 year old game developer in a team called Heretic Game Studios. Ive always wanted to make a game about the beauties and realities of life. Its kind of been my ultimate goal since I begin programming when I was 11. So, I decided to take a break from working on my game to find some examples on GameJolt. I searched for "Artistic Games", and this was the first one that popped up. I thought to myself, "This one looks cool, lets try it out".

Nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to play.

The characters were so believable and I really envisioned the story in my head, with help from the gorgeous artwork and beautiful music. I was entertained by the slice-of-life style story that was unfolding for the first half. Very well written and executed. But when the doctors visit came in, I was truly pulled in. I felt the tension from the situation as I read onward, knowing what was to happen next but denying in my head, for some hope that I was wrong.

The most powerful part of the entire experience was easily the Deathbed scene. For the first time in awhile, I cried while playing a video game. I had to take a moment to just stop and think before pushing on. The Happy ending dried my tears, and left me uplifted and moved.

I am so happy you are healthy now. My best wishes to you and your future endeavors, whatever they may be!

Dear Zhenghua Yang.
It's 2:34 AM right now, as I write this words. I'm 21 year old college student from Russia, with seemingly no purpose in life and hobbies dubbed as "worthless" by my parents, such as drawing and creating stories, after someone's other worlds or my own.
I just finished playing your game. I want you to know, that even with my exceptionable self-taught skills in English, I was able to understand your story very clearly and empathize very deeply. (On side note, your handwriting isn't so horrible, mine is much messier :D)
But seriously speaking. I was crying, it was hard to keep reading because of tears chocking my throat. I remembered as I myself was hospitalized first and hopefully the last time in my life, in high school, and how when I was preparing for operation, I was afraid I'm going to die here. I'm not religious, but I was praying to all gods, existing and non-existing, to let me live. I had so much planned, so much not shared yet.
I still have.
Your game had a great impact on me, reminding about how short and unpredictable life is. And I want to say "thank you" for this. Thank you with all my heart.
My own personal purpose in life might not bring me stable life, or good career, or anything that considered "worth living" among others. It might not even considered as a "real" purpose. But I'm sure now - it exists.
I want to create new worlds, for everyone to explore.
Thank you for reminding me about it. And thank you for sharing your story.

With all my respect, Margarita Lawrowa (Маргарита Лаврова),
also known as MayBeHeir.

Really moving story about life. Thank you, creator for this experience and for sharing your story with the world.

Loving Life is a short non-fictional artistic visual novel game developed and produced by Zhenghua Yang (Z).

At age 18, a near-fatal experience forever changed the way he viewed himself and the world, transforming him into the very type of persona he never thought he could be. Four years later, Loving Life was made not only as a reminder to himself indicating how much he had grown, but also to all teenagers as a message that "life is short, we must make every second count."
