What do you think?

I think we our rating system should have decimals, like 3.5 4.5 etc. Anyways!
Jm, I actually enjoyed this game even though it was quite difficult. I liked the simple retro graphics coupled with the 8bit diddy. The game play was nice, but the controls were a little... annoying to say the least.

I give it a 4, based on being made in 2 hours ( I would give it a 3.5 but, we don't have decimals yet, so consider yourself lucky :P )

Really nice for a 2 hour game, i really like the concept!

4/5

Thanks Ash! I was going to add sounds, but I thought it was a minor thing and would have took me over 2 hours so I thought i'd leave it. I am going to update sometime with many new levels and other things, and sound effects will be on the list.

Theodolite - OK you got me, I haven't done my research.

What kind of gas is inside the balloons?

I enjoyed it very much JM. It's a nice simple concept and kinda reminded me of Skullpogo and/or that game that was mentioned on Bytejacker recently.

The graphics and music went well together and the gameplay was quite challenging (iwbtg-esquely frustrating) - well, only the last level really.

I liked that the player controled the acceleration, as I found this the main challenge in the game, but it would have been nice for an accelerometer or sorts.

I was disappointed that there was no sounds for when the level was completed, when the balloons were popped, or when the played died; but, I suppose I shouldn't expect so much from a retro-themed game.

Overall JM, it's nice and I'll give a generous rating. :)

Controls:

Right - Jumps off platform, acceleration.

Left - Deceleration.

Hit ALL the balloons then land on the end platform to win the level.

Do NOT hit anything checkered. THE GUY doesn't like it.

The difficulty ramps up pretty quickly in the last few levels, so watch out.

Created in 2 hours. Competition theme was Retro/Minigame.
