Sounds interesting, I'd love to see some screen shots.
How will the fishing pole work as a weapons, will it be like a sword or can you attack by casting hook.
Some special lure that rejigger how the weapon works would be a good hook.
Also will the fishing pole be used as a mobility tool like a grappling hook or a pole vault?

In this 2D action game, your only weapon against sudden danger is your fishing pole. Fish climb on land and cats shoot all trespassers on their icy lake. Despite the danger you can't leave without catch.
Dodge bullets and fish, catch your enemies before they catch you and get yourself a nice meal from the biggest and rarest fish of all!
