Would recommend this game for people who like xcom-like gameplay

I'm going to love this just hoping there a full game soon

I just played this demo, and I have to say, the mechanics and gameplay are well done so far! Can't wait for the full version of this game. It would be nice if there was a multiplayer mode where you verse each other though. But well done so far anyway! 10/10

Uhh I didn't actually play the game, I just said that from the pictures. I'll play it when I shut my Norton down because it will delete the game if I don't. Although, I could definetly play it if you put it in browser.

Outland 17: Void of Liberty is a sci-fi tactical RPG based around the events of the American Revolutionary War. Earth's population has swelled, leading to a strain on her resources and a wider gap between the wealthy and the impoverished. Stations are being built outside of the Earth’s orbit to explore more possible resources and to alleviate the burdening population.

Those in poverty are offered places on these Outlands in the hopes of working off their debt to the corporate companies on Earth. However, awful working conditions, unfair laws, and martial brutality have pushed the colonists to the breaking point.

G. Martin Wallace, citizen of the People’s Republic of Earth, hears rumors of civil unrest in the colonies. Despite the official reports of peace, Martin Wallace is compelled to validate these rumors for himself. You start with Martin Wallace landing on Outland 3 seeking out the truth and, eventually, organizing a more effective force that can match the military force present on Outland 3.

  • Open Ended Character Progression - How you play determines the new skills that go into your squad's Kits. Whether you spend time sniping from a distance or brawling in the middle of the fray will change the abilities that are offered when they level up. Build a team specifically customized to your playstyle!

  • Accessible Gameplay That's A Challenge For Everyone - Implementing a linear tile system, you won't need grids to tell you who to shoot. Advance or retreat your squad along these tiles during missions and select different paths to take them to their goal or explore different areas.

  • Complete Squad Customization - Customize your squad members to fit ANY role that you need, using ANY weapon available. Modify their weapons to alter stats or boost damage. Change their ammo type for different affects and strategy!

  • Impactful Choices That Influence The Story - Choose whether to free your fellow man or reign as the new tyrannical leader.

  • High Replayability Through Alternative Play Modes

Outland 17: Void of Liberty is designed to be accessible for casual gamers but enjoyable for the hardcore community. With an enticing story and the ability to engage in combat the way you want to play, there's something to offer for all in the universe of Outland 17.

4-18-2015 Changes:

  • Outland hum reduced 60%

  • Outland hum Falloff reduced drastically

  • Ambient "space" hum on all levels Reduced 50%

  • Intro ship sequence engines reduced 70%

  • Intro Doors reduced 50%

  • Plugged in new level names

  • Removed the top scrolling restriction on the in-game camera and moved the escape button a little closer inward

  • Added the ability to make weapons graze enemies and applied it to the rifle and musket weapon types

  • Made a new utility item that heals AP (gives double max AP so you can use it at the start or end of a turn)

  • Increased the font size and style of the hover text so it's more readable

  • Tinkered around with new camera movement possibilities

  • Changed the new star on items in the inventory to the word "New" to reduce confusion

  • Slightly altered the skill tree so that skills are given more space than proficiencies as they are more important

  • Added a new cursor icon for supporting allies with an item

Revamped the combat GUI:

  • Made it so there are no longer tabs, abilities and weapons are both showing at the same time so there's no need to swap between menus

  • moved the AP bar next to end turn, so you know how much action you have left before you end turn

  • removed the target display information because you can get similar information from just hovering over the target

  • Grenades now hit 100% of the time at reduced damage

  • Made the drop rate for weapons you don't spawn with higher

  • Reduced how fast movement upgrades so it's most likely to level up in level 2 or 3 rather than 1 and 2

4-18-2015 Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where the player's back would twist around when leaving cover sometimes

  • Fixed an issue with the perk tree sometimes not locking or undoing skills

  • Finally addressed an issue with the perk tree tutorial appearing when the mission select tutorial should have

  • Fixed a bug where checking for used proficiencies inside of skills caused a nullOutland 17: Void of Liberty is being developed by a team of 8 in the US. We show our passion for game development by working our day jobs and meeting together at night to work into the wee hours to try to make some kind of progress. The game has now been in development for two years.
