Pepsiman

In March 1999, a video game for Sony's console, PlayStation, developed by the Japanese studio KID, went on sale exclusively in Japan.The player plays Pepsiman, who runs through various locations, with the task of avoiding dangers and collecting all the cans of Pepsi that he can, ending up in front of thirsty people just like in commercials.The game includes two extra outfits as incentives for whoever completes the game under certain conditions.

The development was on a tight budget, which led its creators to make the decision to include videos with a real actor as scenes between levels, because they were cheap to produce. It also featured scenes with 3D models, created by Japanese artist Kotaro Uchikoshi.

Although American distributors were interested in launching the game, it finally remained an exclusivity for the Japanese public.
