You awake in a virtual plane. Something is telling you to find a way to escape. You see an entity in the distance coming ever closer. You have no choice but to go up and find a way out of this place.

Planar Escape is a top-down fast-paced puzzle game where you try to escape various levels while being chased by an unknown entity. There are currently 8 fully-complete levels but I'm planning to make a total of 16 at minimum for v2.0. Each level can be played in 3 different game modes with 3 different speeds that the entity can move at. The game modes are:

- Escape: exit the level as quickly as possible while trying to collect as many stars as you can.

- Mark: cover as much ground as possible as fast as possible.

- Trace: find the quickest shortest path.

There is also a level editor that allows you to create as many levels as you'd like using all of the different game objects. In order to share levels, you need to locate where your save data on your computer. For windows you can go to your %localappdata% folder and find the game's folder. There should be a custom levels folder there. Once you've created a level it will appear there. You can then send that file to others and they can put it in their custom levels folder where it will then be loaded by the game automatically. There are various level objects available to use for levels, including things that I've yet to make use of myself in the main levels. Theres:

- Starting + ending portals

- Stars + Stardisks (collectables used for points in the escape game mode)

- 3 walls types

- 20 unique blocks that can be pushed around, ranging from laser blocks to ice blocks.

- 17 contraptions that have various purposes, ranging from a buttom used to allow power flow to gadget machines that give players grapple guns

- Teleportation portals

- 4 NPC types

- A power system with 5 types of power

There's also partial controller support, meaning you can play with a controller but you can't really navigate menus with them... If you have any questions, comments or suggestions please leave them down below! Also, if you'd like to share levels you've created be sure to put them somewhere around here where people can download them! Make sure you're staying safe and only downloading files that are safe.

v1.9: A complete remake of my first game. Moved the game from Unity to GameMaker and utilized the Box Engine that I made for GameMaker that is freely available to use on the asset store or on my GitHub for all of the movement physics.

What to look forward to in v2.0:

- 16 complete levels (currently there are only 8)

- Bonus levels based on progress

- filled out logbook explaining each level object as well as player stats

- local multiplayer

- different character skins
