The game's pretty great for what it is, but here's some things to look out for when uploading a new version:
I don't know if it's a coding error or human characteristic, but I seemed to move really slow in the tutorial level of the "Gamejolt build" and got progressively faster as the levels went by. This made it difficult to fly and move. I think this is because the only thing the tutorial level has is a large never ending floor. You don't have much depth perception with that, so it's hard to gauge your speed. Especially with the tiles of the floor being so large. It might help to stick some stuff in there to help the player out.
The next issue I have is the controls. I understand it's an unnusual control scheme, but the way you presented it was a bit confusing. It might help to have more of a step-by-step approach to this. While I'm at it, using the right stick for throttle control is awkward to begin with, but it would be fine if you tilted it forward for up, backward for down. Left and right feels weird no matter how many times I try to get used to it. In my opinion, I would use A for up and B or X for down (using an Xbox 360 controller).
Something I just thought about is the camera. Having it as a first-person point of view makes it tough to see where you're going. This might be difficult to explain, but I'll try my best:
Have the camera behind the player in a third person perspective. The camera is always level. It turns with the player left and right, but it won't tilt up or down or roll.
One last gripe is the speed. I think you move a little too fast.
I haven't tried out the Leaderboard build yet, so I'll try that one out and get back to you.
Even though I was just flying around an empty city it was quite a lot of fun. Good thing I don't get motion sickness easily though; sometimes hitting those buildings sent me in such a spin that a lesser man would've surely vomited. Had to fiddle with the controls a bit (using a DS3 controller with XInput wrapper) so I'm not sure if the experience was as intended. Took it upon myself to try and recover from a collision without touching the ground and after a while I managed to achieve that too.
What kind of game will this become in the future?
very cool!!!
Is there a way to use keyboard support yet? I don't have a controller or joystick...
can i paly with keybord ?
Important! This game can only be played with a dual analog controller at the moment, sorry!
High Score Mode added, now with bleeps on checkpoints and restarts by pressing R.
Have fun!
