As Anna was on her way home, she spots Takuro and Takeshi taking Shun along, she immediately calls Hiroshi and Chitose.
Chitose informs about it to Mika, and they all arrive onto the destination that Takuro was heading to, the fabled Jailhouse.
As Mika tries to talk Takuro out, Anna rushes against him, Takuro retaliates and brings Shun in.
Now Hiroshi and the others must traverse through the place and rescue Shun from Takuro's claws...or is there something else going on?
Takuro, however, won't be their only worry, as it'll show reveal, something even darker lurks inside the Jailhouse...
Will they make out alive, or will they suffer a painful fate? That's up for you to see...

Explore every single corner you can, some things will be hidden away from the view, and there'll be many puzzles to test your brain out, any number, or item, will be useful in some way, you must keep track of them.
As well, the story will branch depending on what you do, if you save someone, or not, everything will be taken into account.

Anna's sprite comes from Oni of the Opera, credits to the creator of said game!
Shun and Chitose's sprites, plus a bunch of extra stuff, was made by me!

This isn't the first version of the game, I had almost the entire thing done except that I felt it was terrible, it didn't felt like it was worth anything, but I still wanted to make a game like it, so I started everything from scratch.
The original game was made with the concept of being a game based solety in the novels but with Chitose from Ao Oni X included, however, with this new version, while it started with the same concept, it expanded, and now it's more of a rewritten of the entire series, rather than the novels exclusively.
You can expect many more callbacks to other titles of the series, this is just the beginning, after all...

The first build released to the public, which was absolutely a improvement over the Classic version, but still, it was pretty much entirely turning out the same as the original game, but worse, and most people were also unable to finish the game because of how unintuitive most of the puzzles were, the game still felt poorly handled.
Some of you may have also noticed how, there's been over 2 painful years of waiting for literally any news, which I'm very aware of, my motivation for the game was lost for so long since this version dropped, it really did feel like I was never taking it back, and this game was bound to be abandoned.
That was, until a met a group of people...
Joining The Oni Club rejuvenated my interest for Ao Oni Rewritten, it felt so good seeing a group of active Ao Oni developers in this time and age and since then, even with some ups and down, I've been working so much more in the game than I ever had in years!
