Thankfully, I know a bit about game development, so I truly appreciate how much work went into this. The amount of detail is incredible — I absolutely love all the little touches scattered throughout. The experience is surprisingly deep at times, even disturbing, in the best way possible.
There's also this clever layer of choice; it feels like the game could expand even further if you hit “No” instead of “Yes” — and that alone opens up a ton of possibilities. The sound design is excellent, too. A few of the tracks sounded very familiar (in a good way, though — had me chuckling a bit). And speaking of laughing, the writing? Hilarious in parts. I caught myself laughing out loud more than once.
All in all, it's a weirdly emotional, smart, and occasionally unsettling experience — and I mean that as a compliment.
I REAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYY love this game. The game has a lot of surprises and jokes. It was confusing in a funny and weird way. And man, THE DETAILS were immaculate like really now, wow. The design on everything is crazy. The matching music that just fits to every situation. *chef´s kiss. The crisps and delicious sounds when you walk on the wooden floors. B e a u t i f u l. Still can´t believe that a small group of students did this, yes STUDENTS!! is there more I can add?... I would like more to the end, but if you comment, there would hopefully be a PART 2!!! I give this game a 10/10. Very nice and beautiful. <33333333. LOVE YOU ALLLLL!!!!! :3
Sacred Datura
Story:
After Flix is thrown out on the street by his parents, he moves into a run-down apartment building and starts growing mind-altering plants to avoid slipping into poverty. At first, everything seems to be going well: He makes friends with the other residents and helps them with their everyday problems. But the longer he lives there, the more he realizes that something is wrong not only with the plants, but also with the people around him.
Note:
This was originally supposed to be only a demo for a larger game, but we realized that wouldn´t work out. So now it´s a standalone little thing. Maybe we will work on it more eventually. Hopefully you can still enjoy the game either way.
