What do you think?

Don't know if you know but me and 2 other speedrunners got this game on Guinnes Wolrd Record Gamers edition this year :)

I love the replay system. Also, there should be a newer version with more levels.

This was so much fun to play :D

Game a Week #3 - Sanic Spin 2006

We've all seen Sanic running around at the speed of sound with no place to go. We've even seen it from his point of view! But what about that spin jump? How does Sanic not get sick jumping around?

Experience Sanic Spin 2006 in this game made in a week! Love to hear your thoughts and feel your support if you'd like to see more!

Controls:
Mouse to Look Around.
WASD for Movement.
Shift to GO FAST.
Space to SPIN JUMP.

The theme for this week was "Sickness." I became fixated on the idea of creating a Sanic simulator that focused on his jump.

I spent much time balancing and tuning the feel of his jump. Anything beyond two spins was incomprehensible and did not create the right sensation of sickness I was hoping to explore.

There were also many issues of spinning once the player had landed. This was solved by simulating Sanic roughly 2 seconds in the future to see where/when he will land if he is in the air. Once this is determined, the spin of the jump is adjusted so it completed once he reaches the ground. This created a much more coherent experience that was more readable as a player.

The one thing I wish I had time to explore was allowing Sanic to jump on top of enemies and begin bouncing between them. Timing those types of crazy bouncing jumps would have been cool.

I am currently making a game a week in a prototype course at the NYU Game Center. I decided I wanted to publish each of these projects weekly to get feedback and see what people think.

These are complete works in the sense I don't have expectations to work on them further (unless you all love one for whatever reason).
