What do you think?

Here is a little review for anyone interested in the game or the Game Dev. I want to get this out of the way first. I wish you plenty of luck and honestly, for a student game this is pretty good. If I was rating you entirely on how much experience you probably have with what you're working on and with, it'd be a solid 8/10. This said the game isn't good without such a background given. I'll give honest opinions on everything as if I didn't know it was just some project. To start the graphics are pretty basic. Not to say they are bad or good, they seem like some models put to a default shader with no style affiliated (also, round meteors? Just a nit-pick but ya know, critics criticize). The sound is well enough, not to say it's anything special but the sounds don't seem blatantly off or out of place. The gameplay entails some thought out of the player beyond 'shoot thing' which is damn good for an early build indie game on this site. That being said, it contains nothing new or extraordinary. It's a base-class space shooter. despite being pretty base class however, it doesn't have any glaring flaws (apart from maybe the menu being so boring and bland it's a bit off, but hey, I can get over that) so it earns a nice 6/10. Good enough to finish the first level and wonder what more levels might entail, but not so much that I'd sit down and play 'Space Cops' given a break in schedule.

This here is a work in progress game project I've been developing for the paaaast... 3 months or so? ish? And this is the "finished demo" version I've submitted as for my Final Major college, for the final project of said course. Just be aware that this game is really, REALLY unfinished, as well as my first attempt at creating a game from scratch (using the ue4 blueprinting system) so please bare that in mind when providing any feedback!

I do intend to continue working on this game, as I do see at least a little potential and hope that it couuld mayyybeee rack in a tiny bit of money at an actual fully fledged finished state. All of the assets in the game were created by me, EXCEPT around...... four materials from the unreal starter content? And a couple of sound effects I've found free range on YouTube and the sort. Speaking of sound, the balancing of audio may be off here and there, though that's down to me developing at various volumes depending where I was. So please forgive that -.-. Another thing to bare in mind is if you start the game and there isn't a video playing in the top right/middle area of the screen on the main menu, then just close the game and restart it again until there's a video. If you don't do this then the game will be.... shall we say a little extremely damn bright. Unless you want to play it like that, then good luck with that!

There is a tutorial level and a main level in game, though I will still list the controls here :)

Controls:
Movement: WASD
Firing: Left Click
Speed Up: Left Shift
Pause: P
Restart Current Level: R

Keep an eye on that ammunition too!
