Entry for the Adventure Jam 2016, this is a short game about a Japanese Koi mermaid and her adventures. You can cast your vote HERE.
When Koyumi goes inside a sunken ship to explore, she finds more than she had expected. How will she get out now?
HOW TO START THE GAME:
Downloadbthe SpiritedWaters.exe file and double-click it to unpack it on a location of your choosing.
Go into the newly created SpiritedWaters folder and double-click the "game" file with a dragon icon.
CONTROLS:
"Up, down, left, right" keys move Koyumi.
"Esc" opens up the menu and closes currently open menus/inventory/forwards text.
"Enter" select an option/ lets you talk to characters or examine objects when you are next to/in front of them
"A" key opens up your inventory so you can use it said item on something or someone from your surroundings.
ADVENTURE JAM 2016 VERSION:
Please be aware that the current version of Spirited Waters is a prototype made in just two weeks by a single person working a full-time job.
Therefore, it's going to be unpolished.
With that said, this is what I want to add, polish and fix for a future version:
-Finish and make better the current art (especially backgrounds and items!)
Add more character busts, expressions, animations
-Sprite animations
-Background animations
-Proper and curated sfx
-More music
-Better/more dialog options
-Longer story
-Different/more gameplay mechanics (such as a proper clue system/interrogation)
-Tons more of stuff to interact with!
Let me know what you think of the demo, what you'd like to see on a finished version, or what you didn't like and why, and please report any bugs you find, as the game hasn't been fully tested before release.
