Great game, it's been a long time since I played a game on my phone and this one was an amazing piece of game to play, the sound is great and everything is well made, i liked the idea of "Rewinding Time" like in Braid but this actually doesn't rewind time it's more like moving backwards because when i press the Rewind button the time bar sort of thing in the top doesn't go up (simulating the rewind system), other than that it's a very good game, why not while it's free, jk lol
Neat game. I don't have an Android device, but I downloaded a copy of the sound track, and it's awesome. :)
The music has a really clean ambient sound.
I found a pretty nice gameplay video on Youtube. The game has a lot of neat details in it. I like the ambient particles that stretch out based on your speed, and the camera pull-back when you go airborne.
I also like the sort of retro and modern blend in the visuals. On the retro side, you have the track color schemes and the faceted look of the vehicles, and on the modern side, you have smoothly curved track geometry and light mapped shadows.
I'm not sure it would be easy to do this, but it might be interesting to see what the lighting would look like if the shadows were very subtly tinted the same color as the track's sky. It might give the illusion of a kind of global illumination fill in the shadowed areas.
It's also pretty neat that there's a progression system with unlocks.
I didn't see enough gameplay to get a feel for where you use the rewind feature but it's an awesome looking effect. :)
One thought, the engine sound seems to be a constant pitch once the vehicle reaches its top speed. Not necessarily a problem or anything, but I was thinking the engine sound might mesh with the background music a bit more if the engine pitch had a bit more variation, even if only subtle, as you make your way around the track. I'm not sure what you would use to vary it, maybe a sort of faux resistance formula, based on track slope angle, current turning rate, and whether or not the buggy is airborne or on the ground.
Granted, track slope angle might be tricky since it looks like the track defines the gravity direction, meaning the slope relative to gravity will always be flat. So you might instead use the buggy's pitch-up rate and pitch-down rate to add or subtract from a pitch tracking variable that naturally gravitates back to a center value over time.
Oh, also it was interesting to see the overlapping octagonal polygons used throughout the UI. Just thought it was a nice touch.
Anyway, very cool looking game.
Keep up the good work. :)
This is awesome 5/5 ! :D
