Hey, everyone!
It's NickamonGaming (from those who know me from Game Jolt)/ NickamonPoppytail (for those who know me from Stencyl)/Nicholas J. Hackett (for those who know me from the book The World of Elecreatures).
I have mentioned in the Stencyl forums and in about five devlog posts across my many game pages for games in the Poppytail series a new project I've been working on.
Don't worry, I'm still working on Poppytail 5 and I'm still gonna finish The Poppytales.
Now that's out of the way, it's called Pixeltail, as you can read the title of the page there. Remember Poppytail, Poppytail 2, Poppytail 3 and Poppytail 4? Well, I now admit that those games aren't very good. Sure, I still like and enjoy them, but now I can make better quality games.
So, in this game, it's pretty much PT1-4 combined together, but it's a sequel. This game is going to be made for those who have and haven't played a Poppytail game before. Here's some of the things that will be in the game:
1) Remember those crappy doodle graphics? If you've seen Poppytail before, I can almost guarantee you have. Well, no more. There are now going to be better quality, made-from-scratch pixel graphics. If you want a comparison, check the game's thumbnail. Compare that Easter Bunny to its previous appearances in Poppytail 1 or 2. Much better.
2) Remember the absolute nostalgia of no sound or music in the first three games? (Admit it, the game's lack of sound is nostalgic ;) ) Well, there's going to be both sound effects and music in this game! There's even going to be voice acting (this is the same as Poppytail 5).
3) I'm sure you all would've loved the controls from the first four games because of how EASY TO USE they were (well, if you've played as much as I have it becomes very easy). Well, now that's being fixed. The controls are going to be like the original minigames, but better. You'll see. ;)
4) If you've never played a Poppytail game, don't worry, you don't have to waste hours of your time figuring out the controls and avoided that stupid clown rabbit with the eggs with the pink ribbons to find nightmares or minigames! (Well, both Bun-Bun and the eggs will still be there, but the controls are fixed!) All of the nightmares and minigames from the original games are going to be recreated in the new art style (plus this time round I actually have some idea whatI'm doing).
5) Played Poppytail games and want more story? Good for you, because there are going to be more new minigames and nightmares! So now you have a lot more to find in this game.
6) Achievements! Now you can keep track of what you still haven't done yet, so you can 100% the game! Achievements will be for things like unlocking certain features, beating new minigames or finding new endings (although it is not limited to those). These will carry across saves unless you decide to reset the whole game.
7) Your suggestions! If you have more suggestions for Pixeltail, comment on the game page (if you can, still not sure how this works), post a message on the Stencyl forums or email me on [email protected] or [email protected]. This way I should see your suggestion soon after you send it, as I'll follow the game page so it'll show up in my notifications if you comment on this page, I'll see your email when I check my emails, or I'll see it on Stencyl because I check that daily.
Tl;dr THIS IS GOING TO BE A FUN GAME SO FEEL FREE TO SEND ALL OF YOUR MONEY ON IT WHEN IT'S OUT*
*You don't have to do this, as I'm only joking. However it would be appreciated if you did pay, say a dollar or something for the game.
Also if anyone wants to beta-test just contact me on something that was on Point #7 up there.
However if you are trying to steal the game I'm not going to send a .STENCYL. I'm going to send it as a Windows application, and it's going to have content that promotes me, so just be warned. Well, I'm also pretty sure that's illegal too, so keep that in mind. Plus I have said 1000 times that you should only play Poppytail games from this account unless I state otherwise, in case it's a rip-off.
