What do you think?

so cool

It was a bit confusing at first. Nice graphics, does music match??? A bit slow for my taste, but well done and keep creating.

Absolutely beautiful game, and a fantastic monument to the original. The maze is large enough as to be confusing, but the distinct areas help build a mental map, and the texts and ornaments make it a joy to explore. I only found one hint-spot

(the pool at the bottom of the brown cave)

but found it very helpful (without being too explicit) and wonder if having a couple more might help make things a little easier.

The ending, while not providing closure, fit perfectly with the theme and atmosphere of the whole experience.

All in all an absolutely beautiful game. Thank you for making it.

Now this, this is a good game. Not because of the art design or the gameplay or the soundtrack, (although all those things are good as well) but the feeling you get once you start to search for the Wumpus. During my time spent reading the literature left on the shelves of lod libraries deep in the cavernous temple, I read tales, lore, descriptions and all sorts of interesting, thought-provoking writing. It was only after about 30 minutes of reading and exploring that I realized, I REALLY wanted to find the Wumpus. For a pixelated game with a simple art design, I was heavily immersed in my adventure for the mystical Wumpus. After about an hour I did eventually find it, and while the initial feeling I felt when finding the Wumpus was dissapointment, the path it took me to get there was a great one. Bravo, developers. Bravo.

I got lost inside the temple ... I need a map! I could not find the Wumpus. This game had me hooked for a long time. :)

Welcome, Pilgrim

You have arrived at the Temple of the Wumpus, a holy shrine said to house the incorporeal body of the divinity known as the Wumpus. Pilgrims come to this massive temple in order to pray in the presence of the Wumpus's incorporeal body.

Explore over 100 rooms filled with hints, lore, and secrets. Kneel in prayer and see if you can find the slow-moving, divine Wumpus.

Instructions

Z: Pray
X: Jump
C: Light candle (while in prayer)
Enter: Pause/select
Up arrow: Interact/talk/read
Down arrow: Advance text
Left and right arrows: Walk

Your object is to locate the Wumpus and pray in the same room the Wumpus's incorporeal body is in. Pray before entering a room to find out if the Wumpus is presently in an adjacent room. You must enter this room with a candle, else the Wumpus will flee.
