This is the plot:

Attention: Any similarity with reality is pure coincidence.
Terrorist defense is an indie political-strategy game. You control a troop of soldiers from the happiest country, the current mission of the government of this country is free the oppressed countries ruled by the cruelest and evilest dictators. Of course, the war cost money and you must drain all the possible petroleum from the country that you are (invading) freeing. But this, my friend, is not an easy task, troops of rebels, terrorist, and brain-washed masses that do not like the freedom will try to destroy your oil-pump, you must protect it no matter what. So more oil you pump, more bucks you get, and more bucks means more soldiers and weapons, and more soldiers and weapons mean more fun. You must endure the terrorist troops until the last drop of oil had been drain.
You will travel around a lot of countries, that must be freed, all over the world.
The Driest country, home of the dry people and they suicidal units that call our honorable and happy country "satanic".
The Revolucionario country, we had some troubles here since two army rebels from the country, had taken the power of the all righty and democratic president in law. We must help him to return to the presidency... and also fill a little bit our buckets of oil.

Now let's talk about the coolness of the game.
My main objective in this game is put all together, the parody, the political satire and the old-school (and not so old) games. For example: Not all the soldiers that you can buy are normal soldiers like swat, the k9, or blackops, you also have special troops like "Gaseous snake", "Anonymous" and "Kuile".
The randomness in this game is also important, I am making the sprites and programming the game in a way that every time that you play it, will be different, like in the "Binding of isaac" game.

The gameplay is pretty simple, you start with an standar amount of soldiers, three for example, and you must kill any terrorist that approaches, while the oil pump is draining oil, your money amount will increase, with that money you can buy new units or weapon updates. The algorithm of the IA of the soldiers is pretty basic, everything in the game is a unit, and a unit can have one of two sides, the good and happy fellows or the evil ones, obviously the enemies units will spawn with the enemy side set. All the units are in a big collection and each unit will search the closest enemies, will walk an appropriate distance to engage fire, and the shoot until die or destroy the enemy. Besides, you can control the troops making click (or tap in them) and making click again in a destination point, that soldier will walk to that spot, ignoring all the enemies, and will return to the search of enemies from that place.

Philosophically I want to make this game to reflect the as private joker said in "Full metal jacket", the duality of the man, that is why all the sprites have a happy face, and the happy face is a major icon in this game

So, any suggestion will be good received. Currently this are the parts of the project that I have completed.

  • Full programing of the game but with dummy sprites.

  • The golfo soldier sprite with animations.

  • The black ops soldier sprite with animations.

  • Dry terrorist sprite with animations.

  • Main menu gui.

  • Oil pump sprite with animations.
    And what I have left:

  • Game GUI

  • Some levels sprites like boxes, walls, and other decoration sprites with their respective animations.

  • Good music and sounds.

  • All other units and enemies sprites.

Actually I have a working game version, but still have some dummy sprites and I do not want upload it like that.

Finally I will leave you some sprite sheets, if you like the project and you want to join in, helping me to improve the programming, drawing the sprites or doing some cool sounds, leave me a message.
