So, I've never played "the scary maze game," so the reference is a bit lost on me. That being said, I really like the clever placement of level endings and starting positions - it gives the game a neat sense of continuity, and frees it from menus. I had a hard time navigating some of the very tight corridors, so I only got so far, but it was pretty good overall. The music is very good too. I could have used a bit more motivation to keep going, since death can be quite frustrating.
Great game! Awesome gameplay that handles well, amazing visuals, and an overall great experience. Sequel? :)
The game has a bug - the protagonist of the blue square disappears and play the game becomes impossible :(
Welcome back to the Non-Scary Maze Game! This release captures what I wanted to create with the original two that I created years ago when I was younger and adds better graphics, better gameplay, and an all around better experience!
Designed to be a difficult yet fun experience, the NSMG offers 15 levels of mazes that can be quickly beaten but not without difficulty.
If you're curious as to some back story, read on.
I came up with the idea for the original Non-Scary Maze Game after I was tricked by a friend into playing the original scary maze game. That's pretty much all of the back story.
HELPFUL TIP!
When you move on to a next room, you'll sometimes need to move the cursor to the blue box in order for it to follow the mouse.
CONTROLS!
1 = Mute
2 = Unmute
3 = Show Cursor
4 = Hide Cursor
0 = Force level restart if the player doesn't respawn.
(Happens if the cursor is in a certain location and the player jumps to that location, hitting a wall in the process.)
Mouse to move the box.
