FUCK THAT JUMPSCARE WAS LOUD, I WALKED LIKE 5 FEET
Hey everyone, thanks for the videos you have done on the game! They really help me find out other people's reaction to the game and ways to improve it for later. One of the most continual theme I've seen is the need to have some way to keep track of what parts of the maze you have already been to. I will be working on that feature first to be added to the demo and send out an announcement when the new version is release. Thanks again for all your support and comments.
I like where its going, needs work the jumpscares nearly gave me a heart attack.
Is this Game Dead?
This was amazing, definitely on my watch list. I do have one suggestion or comment, it would be cool if it was randomly generated it'd be 10x harder.....maybe too difficult. Never mind lol.
Story
A small town built into the hills hides many secrets to the outside world. One of which is hidden within the depths of the stagnant fog in the valley. Many stories are told of this valley and the mysterious maze made of slate bricks that lay hidden. Some say that the maze doesn’t exist. Others are more superstitious and say that the maze does exist and is cursed. There are a few that believe in the maze and that a sinister demon resides within its walls. For hundreds of years they have sacrificed bread, berries, and cattle to quell the demon within, but something changed. Almost a year ago the village took in two orphans, Mark and Sarah. Ever since their acceptance into the town the village has suffered from disasters ranging from mud slides to hail and even disease. The more extreme townsfolk believe that the acceptance of these two orphans has angered the demon and smites the village for welcoming outsiders. In an attempt to end their suffering, they took Sarah, Mark’s little sister, to be sacrificed to the demon within the maze. Mark must now enter the Slate Maze and save his sister from the perils that lay within.
Play as Mark as he tries to rescue his sister from the depths of the Slate Maze and find out if a demon is really lurking within the walls.
NOTE:
This game is only a demo of the full version that is still in development. This is an alpha version which means it will be constantly changing depending on input from the community and my own decision.
Because this is a demo, not all features of the game have been added in. To start, the full game will have a randomly generated maze with random events throughout and the size of the maze will be bigger. There will also be a much larger variety of events and improved quality.
Because this game is in alpha, nothing is set in stone, not even the name of the game. I will be taking input from the community about the game and adjusting it according to how I see fit to make the game as good as possible. That being said, if you wish to help with the development of the game and want to help improve the game, leave comments or email me on your thoughts and any constructive criticism you have. Also, please report any bugs or glitches you happen to come across while playing.
Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the game! If you've enjoyed it, make sure to follow the game as it will be constantly evolving as the full game is being developed. I will also have a kickstarter for the game to help pay for improving the gameplay from things such as music to models and animations.
