Puzzles are fun.
Complete silence helps with the atmosphere.
The repetitive rooms give a feeling of not making any progress / being trapped, which I personally see as an upside, since it's a horor game, which wants you to feel trapped.
The repetitiveness gets a bit too long after a while.
An easy way to fix this is to every 10 or 20 rooms adding a small chase or scare to refill the sense of dread. You could probaly add some more rain in the intro cutscene.
In short, The Basement is a very interesting Demo, with interesting puzzles and theme.
Would love to see this develop into a full game!
