What do you think?

wow

Looks interesting : )

Oh I forgot to mention, the Linux build works fine on my laptop (running Arch Linux) apart from a small graphical glitch on the splash screen (that might be down to the fact that my laptop is old and only supports old versions of OpenGL) and the frame-rate being awful (again, probably down to my old laptop), sadly I don't have any other Linux boxes to test it on right now.

Maybe consider reading up on music theory, there are lots of techniques you can use to keep a piece of music "familiar but different", like keeping one instrument playing the same theme while another harmonises differently. Maybe consider using aleatoricism (i.e. having the location and actions of the player dictate the flow of the music) to make it flow better.

I'm going away for a few weeks but I'll check out whatever build is the latest when I get back, keep going! The main reason I lurk gamejolt/new is to find effort, I don't see it very often.

I really appreciate when someone puts in the effort to create their own assets and/or code. I think there's potential for something interesting here.

I could not finish the game, I acquired all the effects and after being confused for a while I looked in the "CHEAT.txt" and it told me to go to a "Dark Staircase World", after figuring out that this must be the fourth thing I didn't go to yet based on the names of the others, I got to the weird coloured pool with the lamp looking thing in it and couldn't get any further because any direction I went from there just led me off the map, I couldn't find said staircase to finish the game.

There were a few neat touches, like having the dot appear only if the lamp was on. I think having more things from the "waking world" influence the dream world sounds like a cool idea.

I did find a bug, where getting into bed from an odd position caused me to spawn under the map and immediately wake up again.

Consider extending the music tracks with different themes and variations throughout, as it stands the short loops get infuriating quick.

hello

A simple, Yume Nikki-like 3D walking simulator as my first ever game! All models made by me using Blender, all music also made by me using MuseScore3 and Famitracker. My over-all goal for this is not very big. If I can entertain a few players for 15 minutes of their lives, I will be content. :P

Thanks for playing, and remember to notify me if anything is wrong or you find a bug. This is, after all, my first project AND an alpha version. #adventure #other #fangame #yumenikki #walkingsim #AssetsAreSelfMade #toomanytags
