havent tryed it but it looks great
Great strategy game, 5/5.
I also love how the main currency of the game is oil. Because as we all know, anything can be bought and sold for the right...oil.
this version is out of date
Ah, I remember the first time I've played this, on PSX. It was a demo, and I would play it over and over without even getting bored. I would sometimes use the cheats from the demo to make things funnier, as in switching team to Brown (New Paradigm) and building a well-defended base using cheats, then going back to Green to try and take on that base. Ah, the old days... Had also found the complete game on PSX too.
Then I found out that Warzone 2100 was converted to PC, your game right here. So I had downloaded it back then, decided to give it a try. I first noticed the Skirmish/Multiplayer mode with choosable maps, which I thought was great. Started one, and discovered a whole new level of this game. More intuitive, a lot of new things, the bots being fair enough to play against, getting largely outpowered by another player... All in all, it got me addicted again, haha.
However, there is one thing that is missing, and I'm pretty sure someone mentionned it before. The Drive mode. Back on PSX, there was the possibility to go and control one unit yourself, or even control one unit and making others follow with multiple selections. Then you could target specific things by facing them, and a target cursor would appear over them. I used it all the time back in the demo. It's almost as if you were the squad leader (and then get killed first because you're the first one to come in enemy's sight). As of now, you seem to have some Follow mode, which basically puts the camera behind the enemy, though the Drive mode is accessible through Debug (it glitches on my side though, can't drive an unit without the camera going all over the place). So yeah, would make it a nice return, if only for racing purposes.
Well then, I was pretty talkative on that one, guess I love this game this much. So yeah, all in all, one of the best games I ever played and loved, and bringing it to PC was definitely a great choice.
This game made me crab-core to some Attack-Attack...
