Update
I've been working on this game for a few days and I've found that having the character stick to the platforms actually makes the game way too easy to beat. The only thing I could do to up the difficulty was to make the platforms move much more quickly which ended up being a bad fix because it was very frustrating. Instead I'm going to work on a new game and probably another platformer in the future. (With platforming that works correctly of course)
