Legend of Zelda Board Game
So did you know that a Zelda board game exists? It was made in the 80s for the first LoZ/Hyrule Fantasy. I played it a bit and it was way too complicated for my kids, so I decided to make a simpler one. This post is all you need to play a Zelda board game!
You'll find in the zip file a whole bunch of cards for enemies, items, and powerups as well as flippable heart meter cards and a whole set of terrain cards that you can use to build Hyrule differently each time! You'll need to print it all out and get some dice and meeples.
Instructions are in the zip file. Here's a couple variants I've played with:
All Boss Mode: someone must kill all the other bosses before you take on Ganon
Points Mode: keep the cards of all enemies you kill and see who gets the most by the time someone defeats Ganon.
Double Mode: there are enough enemy and stuff cards to double-print all the Hyrule terrain and play on a double-size Hyrule.
Forever Stuff Mode: once a player has moved off of a blank terrain space, put a new enemy/treasure card on it, so there's always more to find.
If you want to check out the original Japanese board game this is based on, here it is:
