0.0.6 Update Roadmap


Weapons and Abilities!

Damage feedback needs to be a thing. I will probably be adding a tiny bit of screenshake/screen reddening that intensifies as the player’s health gets lower, and controller shake that activates on the player getting hit. I also want sound ques that trigger when the player is hit, and when the player hits enemies, but that will be a task for a later date.

  • SCREENSHAKE COMPLETU!

  • DAMAGE FLASHING COMPLETUH!

Currently everything flashes a bright red when getting damaged, I’m going to spread this to other things like invulnerability frames soon, but I want to combine all the weapons/abilities into one parent blueprint so I don’t have to go through and modify every weapon individually every time I make a major change.

Weapons and Abilities are going to be a main focus for this update, I want to have models for all existing abilities, as well as at least 3 dodges, one new offensive, and two new weapons. We’ll see how things go.

  • Machine Gun added

  • Blink Evasive ability added

  • Added models for all previous and current abilities (including evasives!)

  • Tesla Gun added

  • Burst Missiles Added

  • Melee ability, laser sword, added.

I want to add a scoring/experience system in this update, but I’m unsure how much work will be involved in this, if it takes too long it will be pushed to the 0.0.7 update in an effort to keep you guys satiated with update videos.

Additional clutter, maybe a few buildings.

Other things to complete:

  • Fix the Atlas.. Just fix him.

I think that might be it for this update.

Other things completed:

  • Made Arena02 less horrible

  • Added a “Demo Version” variable to the player save to sift through shoddy saves at release.

  • Energy regen no longer behaves oddly

  • Abilities now adhere to their cool down times

  • Custom zoom distances added, changeable while in game

  • Cool new explosion particle effects

  • Changed the cell shading method to hopefully improve performance in high complexity areas.

  • Shield no longer pops up when you run out of energy (don’t know why that was happening, so that bodes well)

  • Added sound effects, I made them all with my mouth, so you’ve got that to look forward to.

  • Fixed the Foot Soldier’s wonky ragdolling

  • Fixed the Heavy Spider Mech flying into the air when it dies (distant booing)

  • Tweaked the dash code to make it more responsive

  • Fixed Fraggo not working >:l

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.
