0.5.4 Changelog + Update

  • Shadows are slightly brighter

  • Added some missing DLL

The changelogs are getting smaller and smaller because I’m working on other projects. My game engine/library is almost finished and I’m working on the first game that uses it. I’ll port JUMP! to the new engine once I finish the other game.
There won’t be any new builds until then because JUMP!’s code is really messy and hard to work with. Also the new engine is cross-platform since every external library it relies on is cross-platform, so I’ll try to release Linux and mac builds if possible.

Vertex Array Backgrounds Here’s a background example from 0.4.0

0.5.0 New Tiles! Here are some of the new tiles that will be added in 0.5.0. Also, the tile selection screen now displays the tiles in a more organized manner.

0.5.0 Keys And Locks This feature was suggested by a user. The next update will introduce different types of keys and locks for better level design. Each key will open a specifc lock. For example, a golden key will open a golden lock.

Level Editor Progress The level editor is almost finished! Below you can see a screenshot of the new interface. Please note that not all tiles have been implemented yet and some textures are placeholders.

These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)
