1.7.0 - Technical Update

No new content...

April Fools!

No...seriously...no new content, just technical...side-grades really...still don't like how some of the skills play out with the battle engine plugin.


Plugins:
-BattleEngineCore (changes just about everything)
-AnimatedSVEnemies (does what it sounds like it does)
-InstantCast (for Deeda’s shapeshifting)
-VisualHpGauge (again…self-explanitory)
-TurnOrderDisplay (because it’s nice to see who goes first/last)
-Autosave (because I find it annoying to manually save every 2-5 scenes, don’t you?)
—Manual save prompts at story diversion points have NOT been changed to autosaves.
—More than a few autosave triggers added.

Models:
-Found a few that didn’t have the highlights removed…
—Headset models for Sarah, Amy, and Ashley (also Rachel, Candi, Erin, and Lucy…but I don’t think any of those were in use)
—Amethyst’s Catsuit and “Nude” models…a few pixels were also trimmed off of these (her dress fits like a tent)…probably not visible in the 1 scene that they appear.
—Apparently the front bit of Rachel’s made-over hair was slightly different colors for the highlights…
-The “Inner Demons” that appear in some dreams have new models.
-Pearl’s bikini and sandals are now a single, bolder color.
—Her walk model has also been trimmed down to more accurately represent her figure (which is probably best described as “flat”).
—Several other bikini models got a similar treatment.

Weapons:
-Now 20 types instead of 2.
—Everybody can still equip everything…which is irrelevant because equipment can’t be changed by the player.
—Weapon models will now be displayed when using the “Attack” command, rather than a generic punch…yes, I went through a large programmer-side pain in the ass just for that.

Bosses:
-“Weiss’” changed to “Weiss”; HP raised from 10,000 to 15,000; defense stats raised from 30 to 40; and doesn’t wait as long to unleash her finishing move…all designed to make it less likely that she needs her “Immortal” tag.
-Battles vs Deathstalkers with events at the end of turn 1 now tag the Deathstalker “Immortal” until those events play out.
—Unlikely to be an issue unless you do multiple playthroughs…other than maybe Team SPAZ’s battle (Sapphire with a couple crits might cause issues).
—(Most) Battles vs Emerald and Mercury got same treatment.
-Team RWBY and JNPR in the Emerald Forest now fight a little harder (using skills rather than basic attacks)
—Finale now wraps up faster…12 turns max instead of 20.
-Team WILD vs Olivia no longer has access to the Revive in battle…making it less likely her “Immortal” tag will come into play.
—Music also adjusted.
-A certain boss faced by Team CLEN is now immune to the knock down effect of Gravity Slug and freeze effect of Bullet Spray (Ice)/Ice Shot…again, to make it less likely said boss’ “Immortal” tag will come into play.

Typos:
-Couple instances where I had put a wait in the middle of a word (so it looked like “a..nd” on my end…would look fine after the wait ran).
-Couple missing ’ (one was a “dont”…)
-Sarah had a couple instances of horrid grammar early in the Emerald Forest (singulars/plurals).
-Can’t remember where it was, but I’m sure I fixed a missing word that was the difference between a negative statement and a positive one (missing word was “not” or “don’t” or something like that).
-Missing “found it”…kind of important…only missing from the original version of the scene (3 of 6 story lines…a 4th uses its own version of the scene).

Programming Errors:
-Team SPAZ’s 1st scene in the woods had 2 Sapphire’s walking along…because I neglected to turn player transparency ON at the start of the scene (may not have affected the “Honor Among Thieves” variant due to transparency being ON through the preceding scene there).
-Found some scenes that didn’t adjust the screen tint (kept the same tinting as the previous scene)…not a problem in itself, but depending on path taken to get there…some scenes that have been inserted later changed the tinting of the scene prior to said scenes…minor detail really, but fixed where found.
-Ashley’s “Unknown” semblance not being removed from inventory when her semblance unlocks in some story lines (including the original line).
-The party reload event at endgame will now only play once per playthrough…upon second thought…this might cause issues when returning from alt/deleted scenes…oh well, you should have saved right before being dumped into the endgame town anyway.
