First, and foremost, shoutout to @PB6 for being my 1000th follower.
TL DR: Thank you for 1k followers, still have fangames that I want to make, but might be ending at some point, also life exists and yeah
So, it's happened after 6 years. I almost though I wouldn't get to this point, but I'm so grateful that I have. I can't thank you guys enough for sticking with me. Through the ups and downs, @gamejolt has been one crazy ride, and I've enjoyed the time I spent liking posts, participating in events, solving quests, and the few firesides I joined (rest in peace, firesides) Coming across so many talented people has kept my hopes up in this community and I'm really glad that I've got to be a part of it for this long.
Despite my drop in creations within the past few months, I intend to stay here and create. Though, my original plans for the future have changed a little.
When I first joined Gamejolt, my aspirations were to become a FNAF fangame developer. My funny little series of Minecraft Steve x FNAF crossover was always an interest of mine early into becoming a FNAF fan, and I've had a blast making those games. Now, though, things are a little different. I know everyone tends to say this at some point, or another, but my momentum has died down as I grew up. With going to school, facing adulthood, and trying to figure out how to go about my in real life, I don't have as much time to work on game development. It's not to say that I've lost interest, but more that I can't keep going forever. Game development has become far different than I first imagined, and I started to realize that I would eventually have to make a choice on what I want to pursue.
While I will always be a FNAF fan, I don't think that I will do fangames for too much longer. It's been fun for the time being, but sooner or later I'll have to move on and allow the spotlight to fall on new and talented creators (many who are doing excellent work on recent projects)
However, that doesn't mean I'm quitting right this second. I still have quite a few project ideas that I'm eager to work on/finish.
Here's the quick lineup:
Steve's Aftermath: currently what I'm working on
DSMIS Recalibrated: will start back up as soon as I finish with Aftermath
Five Nights at Steve's 3: yep, there will be a sequel. Something to cap off this series after all these years
Secret project: hopefully something I will get to. Not FNAS related, but something I'm still excited for
And that's that. Once again, thank you so much for 1,000 followers, and I will try to get back into things as often as I can. It will probably be a little difficult in the near future (school) but I will be back.
Tried my best at writing a speech, but I don't know how well this went
