The Egg Crusher is in fact, Dr. Eggman's main mech featured in Sonic Prime! That's right, this is our first (and maybe only) Sonic Prime LEGO set in disguise! Now you can have the first plastic recreation of the very machine that helped shatter Sonic's known reality! This opens the floodgates for possibilities regarding getting LEGO sets based on other canon-adjacent material, like the comics or animations."

The second set revealed is the Team Sonic Command Truck. You know. The iconic Team Sonic Command Truck. Yeah, if you just pay attention to the Sonic fandom and less so on how LEGO operates, the idea of a giant RV where Sonic and friends travel around in sounds absurd. But if you pay attention to LEGO like I do, a set like this is kind of inevitable. "Team" vehicles are a common trend in many LEGO themes, popularized by Ninjago especially. From the Ninjago DBX, the LEGO Movie 2 Party Bus, or even the LEGO Friends Friendship bus, a drivable hub of sorts is a trademark of many LEGO themes looking to replicate Ninjago's success. This is why original sets like the Knuckles mech exist before many other game inspired builds. Ninjago popularized mechs as a set trope in LEGO, that it's no wonder Sonic will follow the trend too. Interesting food for thought. Both sets are due to release this summer season, with a placeholder release of July, but they could arrive earlier than that."
