Welcome everyone to a new 5MSTZ devlog! Today I’ll be talking about things our team has been working on this past week!
Code cleanups and overall improvements
Our programmers worked really hard to make the code as clean as possible this past week. Obviously it still is an unreadable mess, but it’s much better than before! There’ve been some improvements too, mostly to the level editor. Some improvements include (but are not limited to): sound system rewrite, undo hotkey for Editor, new objects in Editor, ability to select items with the mouse (in the inventory).
Redesigns and bigger changes
Now for the more exciting part, the big changes! We are working on a HUD redesign, here’s the current (early) version:
This isn’t final, as we want to make the HP and Stamima bars be a part of the in game watch.
Another big changes is adding buffs and debuffs with various effects, for example drinking an energy drink (new item!) gives you the Energized buff, which increases your movement speed etc. You can see the buffs/debuffs on the top-right side of this screenshot:
We have much more features coming, such as more maps, weapon classes, improved visual effects, full soundtrack by TheMatiaz0, Quality of Life improvements etc.
We are really excited to add new features and improve what’s already in the game, as the development has been going great! If you have any suggestions, please comment them below!
