A little view in my work as a novel writer:
"De Vleugels Des Oorlogs" (The Wings of War)
"Sayonara"

One of my true passions is novel writing.
My game "The Fairy Tale" was the first story in the Phantasar universe, and "The Secrets of Dyrt" the second. Although (Dyrt would only be taken into development a lot later, and The Fairy Tale has been revamped in the meantime, hence the name on Game Jolt).

Here is a chapter directly copied from a book of mine.

A few important notes though:

  • My first language is Dutch, and that's why I write all my books in the Dutch language. I basically recommend all writers for novels to only write them in your first language and to leave translations to people who speak the target language natively. This is also why the chapter I link to is also entirely in Dutch. I really do not know what Google Translate makes out of it. So you may wanna tryit out and see if that works out. Always note that translation software can really kill a well-written story, especially since I've always been using a kind of Dutch language that doesn't really translate to English (always remember the word-jokes and nuances a language has, also due to its cultural background).

  • The chapter is also a draft, so modifications are still possible (although in the case of this chapter not very likely anymore). Spelling and grammar errors may also still live in there, as checking that is mostly the last thing done before the actual release.

  • The book speaks of Nostramantu and Feenalaria. Yes, in Dyrt and The Fairy Tale you see people with the same names, and they are actually the same persons. This book is a prequel to the stories in both games.

This chapter introduces the characters Sayonara and Necrodia to the reader. Sayonara is an Elfish necromancer, but one with a very sweet personality, however she can show the dark magic she excels in very well when people she likes are being threatened. Necrodia is an undead human woman for whom Sayonara takes care. Necrodia turned out to be an excellent gardener and grows loads of crops for fun. She lost her voice during the rotting process, meaning Necrodia is unable to speak, yet she is fully sane and aware of what's happening about her, and she is also willing to jump into the fray to help those in need.
Both ladies play very important keyroles in the entire course of the story.

Even though I don't expect many of you guys to be well versed in the Dutch language, I am still linking that page here, also in order to show a bit of what I do.
