I have several personal projects that I have to get done before I can continue working on Enchanted Quest (along with several issues in the outside world along with trying to figure out how to efficiently transfer the game to the full version of RPG Maker since it was done in the free trial version of the program… which is a pain since the free trial version doesn’t have every resource that the full version does [which a friend of mine was nice enough to get me a humble bundle pack earlier]). This will cause a bit of a delay in the production of the game, but I am hoping to get everything sorted out very soon.

If anyone knows how to solve the issue below, please leave a comment so that I can get the game done faster:

• So my one friend gave me a humble bundle pack of RPG Maker (which comes with the full version of RPGMaker VX Ace), the problem is the game was made with RPGMaker VX Ace Lite (which is the free trial version, which means that the game doesn’t contain the resources from the full version of the software… mainly stuff such as sfx, mfx, and graphics), NOT RPGMaker VX Ace (which is the full version, which contains all the graphics and various sounds that I need for finishing the game). This issue means that I have to find a way to transfer the game to the full version of the software so that I can get all the graphics and sounds from the full version of the software, but its a long and tedious process. If anyone knows a fast and efficient way to do this (I tried copy and pasting… didn’t help much unless I somehow did that wrong), please tell me in the comment of this news article so I can finish making the game asap. Basically when you get the full version of the software, the games that you made in the lite version aren’t updated automatically with the sounds and graphics that you get from the full version (but then again, since the laptop I used to make the game died on me, I had to download the game to be able to work on it). This has been troubling me for a while now and it’s a long and tedious process unless someone knows a better way to do it.

Now on the side note, part of Enchanted Quest (in case no one has noticed this yet) is to make poke a little fun at RPG Stories, which is going to be done in chapters (which will become more apparent if I can figure out a nice way to do the chapter changes) with the chapter that’s currently playable as the chapter that makes fun of the most generic story that occurs in RPGs in general… so I’m hoping to have a little poll to determine what the next form of narration will be made fun of. Here’s how it will work (once I find a nice place to do the actual poll part of the whole thing)…

I will have you guys post in the comments of a news article of what form of storytelling you would like to see made fun of. After about a week I will take a look at the comments of that article and select 3-4 story genres I think would be the best for that part of the game… which will determined as followed:

• Parody/Joke Telling Potential (How many different ways I can make myself and others lol/rofl with the jokes made about that story genre)

• How well it will flow with the game (If I can’t figure out a way to make it work when I plan that part of the game, it most likely won’t go into the game [at least during that poll… there is a possibility that a perfect oppertunity will arrive that would allow me to use that genre idea in the game])

• My knowledge on how well it could be implimented (Like I said earlier… if I can’t figure out how to make it work [especially if it requires extra coding since I don’t really know Ruby xD], I won’t be able to use it… but I will still try my best to figure out how everyone’s idea will fit into the game)

• Popularity (If more people like it, then it has a better chance of making it into the game)

When I have my selections made for the actual poll, I will try my best to impliment the genre suggestion that has the most votes (unless I can’t impliment it for some reason, in which case, I will use the runner up instead after stating that an issue occured… then the second runner up, and if the final selection isn’t able to be implimented for some reason, then I will start the poll over again). Most of the ideas that will be submitted won’t make it for various reasons, but I’m hoping to make as many people happy as I possibly can by doing this poll. I only ask for a few things if you want to submit a story genre for this poll…

1. I won’t accept any sexual/racially discriminating topics (for good reasons)

2. I won’t accept any pornographic or sexual topics (I’ll leave that to fanfics xD)

3. No Drug/Alcohol for topics (these are better left as jokes anyways and I don’t want to promote the use of them xD)

4. I don’t want to see flame wars in the poll

5. For you guys to have fun

I want to do this so you guys can have even more fun with my game by getting you guys involved in the process and I’m really looking forward to hearing all the story genres you guys would like to hear me make fun of. :)

but seriously though… if anyone knows a place I can do the poll part of this or if you have a solution for my one situation with transfering the lite version game to the full version, please post it in this article’s comment section and I will get to it as soon as I can.
