So... it's been a while since the last update, and an even longer while since this whole "NEW" remake has been announced... so what's the deal?

Well the past two years have also been spent finishing up my Bachelor's degree, which I got a few months ago!! Hooray!! So while getting a proper job could slow down things a bit, it won't be nearly as bad as when I was in college (hopefully).

What was really (and still is in a different way) killing the project was the original scope. TNAW3 1.0 was already pushing the envelope with a whopping 18 rooms, and the original plan for Those NEW Nights was to have 30 rooms. Thirty entire rooms. And that wasn't including bonus rooms or incomplete floors. Needless to say, this has been cut back. That leads us to the big reveal...

I had originally wanted to keep this as a big reveal when the game released, but that is both no longer feasible and also a really bad idea.
In TNAW3, there was a playable top-down overworld in the form of the Daytime Quest. There were also rough boss fights that used this same gameplay. For Those NEW Nights, I wanted to expand that gameplay and make more use of the Zelda aspect of TNAW3.
This grew larger and larger until the current plan was designed. While the Mansion is still the main location with playable FNAW3 style rooms within, the game world has been expanded to be a full 2D Zelda styled game, with an Overworld, NPCs, enemies, items, the works.
That is the real reason the game has taken so long to develop so far, and will likely continue to take a while. I wanted to clear the air since I figured most were under the assumption that I was taking this long on just a remake of TNAW3's 18 rooms.

So what's next? The game will continue to be worked on slowly but surely, with the aid of my team that I seriously cannot thank enough and will be eternally grateful for, as well as those who look forward to what I make. Thanks!!
