Chapter 4: The Standoff
Fire was not really sure if to talk to that guy or not. Anxiety was rising with the speed of light. Still, he wanted do say at least something. He took a deep breath…
-Hey, hey! Wh… Who are you?
Firelineron was not really expecting for the dark creature to look ar him.
-Say something! Please! Can… Can you speak?
The silence was too loud. Wouldn’t you be scared? You’d beg for a word.
But the dark cube was just looking. Standing. And looking. He looked like he could see Fire’s soul.
Finally, his jaws began to open. He was struggling to make a sound.
-I… Want you… To join me…
-What? What do you me-
-Let darkness… Consume you…
Fire couldn’t understand what he was trying to tell him. But… He started to see himself. Covered with spikes, dirty, with dusty, barely glowing eyes just staring at him.
-This will be you… In the true end.
-And this…
He took a little pause.
-This will be you if the path will be chosen wrong.
-GOD DAMN!
Fire’s vision was focused on the only hallucination. It was him, full of blood, with his face completely ripped.
-So… What is your choice?
Fire was standing silent, feeling nervous. There were only three things that he could hear:
His heart beating, the figure’s breath…
And the blowing wind.
-I… can’t really decide what to do now. But… What are the prevelegies for “joining your side?”
-Can’t you understand? We’ll conquer these wastelands together, we will be the ones who decide fates… Aren’t you excited?
-No! Why would I be in the same asshole you are?
-BECAUSE I WANT YOU TO FEEL THE SAME PAIN I DID!
-I was stuck here for 3 years. 3 years, Firelineron. How about I say you that? Shocked, I see. I don’t want to hurt you, but you’re not getting away out of here without any changes.
-So, what’s your choice?
They were standing face to face. Eyes to eyes. Mouths to mouths.
-No, NO, NO!
Firelineron started to run, but the shadow cube quickly stabbed him with his knives so he couldn’t move.
-АЙ, Б****!
-See? I didn’t want to hurt you, but you’ve made me do so. Now, calm down, and join me.
Fire started to feel sleepy, he couldn’t move. The last thing he saw was the creepy, crystal-white eye looking directly at him.
-Sleep…
He understood this was the end.
