Hello to all those who are still listening. I have not abandoned the progress of CPEA but I could not afford to keep publishing monthly updates. 4 years ago, I started the journey to create my dream - to create a game that was supported and loved. Since then, my views have changed. What I found fun and quirky 4 years ago, I now find cringey and odd. I appreciate all the support CPEA has garnered over these 4 years, we have just reached 3.6k views. However, I simply do not currently have the time work consistently and output truly worthy devlogs every month - if I did, it would probably be minor bugs and text flaws that no one cares about anyway.
CPEA has far too many flaws to become an actual fully fledged game. Most of the work I had done on the game, most of the additions were not of my own cognition but what other people wanted; I strived so hard to please people with these Easter eggs and personal characters that I forgot the true planning for CPEA.
I was originally known as Jakub_Reale, but that was simply an alias so people wouldn't notice me online.
You may not hear from me for a while, if ever, but CPEA is not abandoned and I am working to fix it - new assets, new tilesets, reworked characters, reworking the fighting system (the old rpg x corpse party crossover is far too bizarre and doesn't work well with the lore anyway) and a complete redesign and rewrite of the whole thing. There are many things, such as those two key items that switched characters, that I clearly had not thought out and added on a whim. CPEA is now back into its planning phases and I also have to apologise for not releasing the Winter special for it. It is indeed finished but these DLCs were meant to be between chapters so you could experience some of the backstory for upcoming characters.
I would also like to sincerely apologise to the talented voice actors and everyone else who auditioned. Not only did you do it all for free but you did not get to see the end of the story either. You were all very talented people yet I was too rushed to add voice actors in at a time when the script was not final, not completely written out and full of grammatical errors.
Thank you all for following the development on CPEA and I hope you are all staying safe during this pandemic.
