Actual, Proper Devlog for SR 1: Humble Continuing's


Greetings Shitters and Shitettes to another Devlog except on a different game this time.

Over the past few monthes, I've been tireless honing my skills in the efforts of Rpg Maker MV Wizardry. While is to not surprising that I would actually get better at shit the more I practiced and used my skills, I feel this one will be a bit more technical and interesting this time around.


First off, Plugins:

Generally, I don't mention to many plugins in these Devlogs as they're not really important to talk about. I mean who really wants to know how I ceaselessly and bravely slapped in a plugin so that doing something would be a bit more convient. But that's all changed, because I'm the one writing them this time!

That's right I've officially dipped my toe in the pool of plugin making, and by dipped my toe I mean doing running cannonball as I've already made 13 plugins with varying levels of complexity (which can be found here) at the time of writing. So beyond doing so bonkers ass things, this means I have been slowly adding things to the game through these plugins that I make. Not only are they fun for me to make (even if I'm awake until 4 am completing them sometimes), they are sometimes actually core game play changes like the newfound addition of the Dietary Guilt and Alcoholism Points system from Complete Collection.

Yes that's right, that mechanic that made proud mode more interesting besides "funne lower stats" is in this game by default. B e A f r a i d. There's actually a few reasons why I did this, mainy because the timeline that SR takes place in the Proud Mode Timeline, so that does mean that it would play in active part in the items me thinks. While that does raise concerns in terms of balance, I assure you that if we shoot blindfolded enough, we'll hit something!


Next, Music:

So this one is going to be kinda short, but the ost of this game has been gradually growing through the months. There's a few reasons for this, but the three primary ones are:

1) The new found jukebox that'll allow you to switch between a few options for the era's background music. These range from shit like the fnaf 2 vent ambiance sounds that are/were popular in memes to the sounds of getting hurdled down into female shit and piss to get Toy Chica her cupcakes back. These songs will generally relate to the era in some form or fashion.

2) The book and store now have 10 songs they can pick from at random, allowing for you to not want to blow your brains out if you don't want to hear more of the mario elevator music.

3) An alternate ost. Yes, the game whose ost hasn't even been finished and has 140+ songs in is getting an entirely different, seperate OST for the game. Yes, I have been deemed not clinically insane, why do you ask?

Again, short and sweet.


Thirdly, Graphics:

The last major talking point of my development is the Graphics. Over the last few days, I've been giving the game a kinda of overhaul in the graphics department. The last time I posted on here was a screen shot of my crude attempts to make this, but now:

Ain't it beautiful, proper spacing, colors, text not overlapping, by god it's enough to make me satisfied and to make a minimalist want to go do a backflip off the Empire State Building. Now granted, some shit ain't final but it is a massive step forward in the right direction imo.


Finally, Other Shit:

So to wrap up things, I've genrally been going strong in devving the game. I've been making steady progress is doing shit like state reworks, like:
-Sleep now has regen cap for bosses

-Sleep now allows for a 1.5x damage multiplier + critical hit if the attack is physical if you hit them out of it, but this will always enrage the enemy

-Letting Sleep leave naturally gives the inflicted 10% Hp and Sp (uncapped even for bosses)

So beyond that and fixxing a few bugs here and there, that's mainly it for this devlog. I mean this devlog isn't earthshattering like those I've made in the past for ODNaF, but shit is cooking, you just got to be patient for the soup to properly cook. I'm aiming for another release for July 28th, my birthday, but nothing is set in stone. So that wraps up today's devlog. I'm not sure what frequency I will post these in, but expect atleast a handful more, I hope.
