Before the recent switch of usernames two days ago, my username was Guyoneer. The username was just a combination of the words Guy and Pioneer. Why did I choose this name? I honestly don't know myself.
What I do know about my previous name is that for a lot of people who I showed my account to, they were really confused by my username. They didn't know how to say, what it was alluding to, or really how it made sense at all. I started agreeing with them and seeing their point, so I decided it was time for a rebranding of sorts.
I wanted to keep the logo that I had made before, which is a pixel art logo of a hammer inside of a gear. The logo reminded me of a blacksmith. Pounding and shaping what was originally a big blob of nothing into something much more interesting. I take big empty canvases and turn them into pixel art. So I decided my name should be about what the main thing that I do hear is, and that was making pixel art. I smashed "pixel art" and "blacksmith" together, and PixelSmith was born!
Is it the greatest username on the planet? Definitely not. But I like the ring it has much better than Guyoneer, and it's much less confusing as to what my account is all about.
I decided it was best to do this whole name switch now instead of months in the future when this account might be bigger and suddenly changing the name people recognize you by.
Until another better username comes to mind, PixelSmith will be my new username. The next step will be making an OC to represent me. Please consider joining my community (PixelSmith's Workshop) if you want to see only my posts, but a bit more sorted out. Until next time, have a great day!
