I took one look at the old piece and told myself to redo this from memory, which is shy so much of the shading, proportions, etc. is so much different.

Been planning a large project and recently started actually painting out the pixels. This one will take a while, but I'll post update screenshots!
After four months, I've finally done it. Despite my completionist urges, I can happily move on to another game for half a year...
