Addressing the white screen issue in The Awakening.

I've gotten plenty of notifications from people saying the game is appearing as a blank white screen. The game still makes sound and works, however.

After doing some research, I'm pretty positive that I won't be able to fix this. It appears to be a shader compile error, so texturing, lighting, basically anything of the graphics isn't able to work. The most I could recommend is to try it on a different device if you have one that could run the game alright, because it seems to only affect certain computers with different specs, I guess. I've tested the game on three computers, and it runs perfectly fine on those.

Blender's game engine is just old.

It's unstable, it doesn't run well unless you're really careful with it, and it lacks a lot of features, too. I like using it for its simplicity, but the workarounds I have to do to make a simple thing work can be really weird and wouldn't even be a problem for me in something like Unreal Engine.

It really does make me sad that people aren't able to play the game over something I really have no solution to. I'm learning Unreal Engine 5 very slowly, but I'm doing great so far and really like it, and this is only making me want to learn it even more. Though I don't want to take my attention away from Long Hours' development right now.

I'm not going to swap engines instantly or anything like that, because I still have no idea on how to do a ton of things in Unreal at the moment. Long Hours and probably the rest of the games will still be made in Blender's game engine, unless I learn how to make games in UE5 faster than I think, but I've already done so much work for Long Hours that it wouldn't be a good idea to do that anyway.

TLDR: I can't fix the white screen issue some people are having, as it seems to be an issue with the game engine depending on the user's device. Blender's game engine is old and weird, and eventually in the future I'll be moving to UE5, but the rest of the Phobia games will very likely still be made in Blender unless a miracle happens.
