Basic translation system using switches in PGMMV
Akira here!
You see, since there are no plugins (neither fanmade or official) that supports localization, so I have to make up a localization system from scratch myself, using a simple method, no other than switches and alternative images! There will be an option to change the language of the game in the menu of the game, and if we choose English, the game will have an English in-game UI (No, not the title screen since I want it to be Touhou-influenced, keeping the English title screen interface while most of the game is Japanese), and if we choose Japanese, the game's UI will be in Japanese, and this also applies to other languages (including my mother tongue Vietnamese as well). Once you choose a language, it will turn on a switch that is designate to change the game's language to the selected language, and turn off a switch of the default language (English) or a language that we have chose before.
I now have a sample menu background, which is a blue heart with wings and swirly patterns, as seen above, and I might put some sample texts created using MS Paint's fonts as menu options later, to check if this works.
Sounds good? Please leave me a comment below if you found anything that could make localization easier than this!
