Currently I am doing the (hopefully) final test before the game can enter the beta at last. The alpha was only available on itch.io, but the beta will be hosted here on Game Jolt as well.
This all took longer than intended as the Star Story project had taken the best of me, and I was just tired of the game and I needed to put my mind onto something else, as otherwise I would rush things up resulting into a terrible end result and I simply don't want that.
In the meantime I am also working on The Fairy Tale REVAMPED which will be moved to the Apollo engine just like Star Story. The engine also underwent a few improvement to do a few tricks I couldn't do in Star Story, but hey I always aim to get more things done in any project I do.
The story line for Star Story II is in basic synopsis ready, I now must work things out and break things down into playable missions. Although I still need to really start on this game, I already could do a bit by recycling the code for the intro screen in Star Story I and just adapting that a bit and replace a few assets, and well, kaboom, here we go. No need to re-invent the wheel, although, I'm afraid that's where the easy part ends.
I do already have a concept game page for Star Story II on both itch.io and Game Jolt, however on both pages, the access is still denied while I'm still setting things up there. And Star Story II will take considerably longer to create than I needed to remake Star Story I, most of all I because I only had to rewrite code in Star Story I, but in Star Story II I must set up new assets and map designs, so once that project gets serious, it's only natural I will need to do a lot more than I had to do here. On the other hand, I now have a complete engine, and when I began the Star Story I remake, I also had to create that, but setting up the engine was actually the least of the total work.
