So I'll list these from my least favorite to favorite starting with the shotguns
Pompson 6000
This weapon sucks. Like why on earth would you use this, the drain effect is negligible at best, it fires really slowly, the projectiles are slow, and despite not needing ammo you still have to reload it. This weapon is awful
Panic attack
Again, awful. When balancing out all the stats of this weapon at best it does 4 damage over stock FOUR. And that's only going to be in one shot because subsequent shots are less accurate. All in all a garbage weapon
The rescue ranger
Now we're getting into weapons that are actually usible. This weapon is decent on defense and has some good qualities. It's just not my style at the end of the day
Stock
This weapon is really fun to use and it's my shotgun of choice for when I want to battle engie
The widowmaker
I haven't unlocked this weapon but it looks interesting and fun to play, especially on offense
The frontier justice
This is my favorite weapon for engineer, my sentries are my children and I want to kill whatever heathens that try and kill my children. Plus I've made this habit of running into the enemy frontline, deleting somebody with a crit and then retreating, it's hilarious
The secondaries
Stock pistol
This weapon isn't unusable but is just kinda outclassed
The short circut
Kinda the same deal as the widowmaker, looks fun but I haven't unlocked it
The wrangler
This is hands down the best secondary for engie, no competition
Melees
The eurika effect
Baiscally this weapon has a long description that equates to "this isn't a good weapon"
The jag
I value being able to deal with sappers and this weapon isn't good at that
The gunslinger
This weapon changes the class entirely, it's not really my style for the most part but it's fun on occasion
Stock/southern hospitality
I know the southern hospitality is technically better but random crits with the stock wrench are just so...so funny to me. The stock wrench is one of my favorite weapons in the game but I can't deny the functional upsides of the southern hospitality. So I'll leave it as a tie
