An Extensive and Long-Overdue Freffy's Update!

Hello! It's been a while since my last development update, I thought that it's about time I share some info about the progress of the game. Last time I did mention that the next update would likely have info regarding the demo, but things have changed a bit since then and I'll get into it more later. For now let's get into the news.

What has Been Going On the Past 5 Months?

As I'm sure many of you know, being a solo dev is tough. When starting development I knew it would be difficult, but I've found that the hardest part about it is maintaining motivation to keep making the game. I haven't fallen out of love with the project or anything, but progress definitely slowed down to a crawl for a bit, however I'm happy to say that I have gotten a lot of that motivation back and development has sped up significantly recently. Night 1 is almost complete and is pretty close to being in a fully playable state. I went back and re-did a lot of the artwork so I could be 100% happy with it, I can't stop myself when it comes to being a perfectionist with this game, I want the end product to be something great and I'm definitely satisfied with where the game is at currently. No matter what, I want to see this project through to the end. Whether it takes 5 months or 5 years (hopefully not 5 years), I will eventually complete it.

Where is the Demo?

Currently, I'm a bit mixed on whether or not I still want to actually release a demo. This game isn't going to be anything huge, the title being evident of this. My original plan for the demo was only to include night 1 in order to save plenty of content for the full release, however recently I've been a bit skeptical about this, thinking that would be too short and not eye-catching enough for a demo. On the other hand I don't want to bloat it with too much gameplay, leading to the full release not having enough new content. I think as it stands right now, I'm ever-so-slightly leaning towards eventually releasing the demo, although it might take more time as I wish to add just a bit of extra content after night 1. I think releasing the demo would be great for the game, as it would hopefully bring in some more attention. I'd love to get some opinions on this as I am still debating it.

I've been keeping the planned content and overall scope of the game sort of a mystery, and I think it's about time I shed some light on this.

What Will the Game Include?

  • 2 Main Nights of Gameplay

  • Post-Night Point & Click Segments

  • A Few Minigames

  • A Straightforward and Intriguing Story

  • Multiple Endings

  • A Plentiful Extras Menu

  • Achievements

  • Some Bonus Content

I wish to include all of this content in the game, but of course not all of it is absolutely set in stone. To wrap up this update I'd like to cover one last thing.

What is the Story?

Here is a quick synopsis of the game's narrative:

In Two Nights at Freffy's; you'll play as Nathan, a disgruntled man who wants nothing more but to discover the truth regarding his two younger brothers' disappearances that occurred at Freffy Funbear's Pizza Palace. He picks up an open position as a Night Guard with intentions to investigate the location. Put the pieces of the puzzle together as to what happened to his family and uncover the dark secrets held by Funbear Co, the company behind everything that goes down at Freffy's.

I hope this lengthy update made up for my long absence, and that all this news gets you excited for the game! As one last little treat, I've added a sneak-peek for one of the cameras seen during Night 1, the show stage. But that's all for now!
